There was no fruit in the fruit bowl left
except for a stone someone
had sucked and chewed on,
chipped, and abused
then spit out
...front and center of said bowl,
and they left
leaving it otherwise empty…
‘Cept for that pit.
Such a crass, crude, and thoughtless act,
bearing no fruit whatsoever…
the crime before the fall
pits and all.

A written distillery
Spilling verbage
& well-aged adages…
in small doses
drip, drip, drip,
through crystalline tubing
drip, drip…
captured by petite cordial vessels.
…drip
Then they are aged for ages
which ages the most steadfast soul.
As it’s a weighty wait…
but in due time,
It is time.
Turn that tiny spigot
,,,careful now
just a shot will do
but a spill …???
Will do you in.

Just another band that lost its voice. Blunted by the repetition and intrusive recognition, stunted by the exposure, over and over, it was the backlash that lasted, and led to their crash.

It didn’t really matter,
the chatter about the ladder,
because Augie had gotten fatter
and there was no way
he was roof-bound
as round as he had become.
But dumb luck intervened
and Augie, would see himself
up to the challenge.
But as the rickety ladder,
creaking with spite,
and as he climbed
it didn't matter
but its protests went unheeded,
and gravity wasn’t cheated
as he reached the pinnacle,
he realized
"something wasn’t right..."
just as the ladder shattered.
And yet, ironically Profound:
Rotund men are right to try.

Evan knew it was inevitable.
His marriage splintered
like a foregone conclusion
gone asunder,
as he blamed himself
and not the other,
it was too much to ponder,
his fault,
his blunder,
so he packed up his things
and moved yonder,
leaving those left behind
to question and wonder.
