Evan pondered his fate
as he has often
done of late.
At that age
where the years
can grate,
and eat away
your stately grace
with no ready remedy
not a success
or a tragedy
just a shadow
passing through
his short stay
was not a waste
with his last breath
wheezed a lifetime
alive in the moment
just not immortal
